Exact-timing

In about 42 minutes the year 2007 will over for me, and what has this year brought?
Erm... let's see, there was a massive mating season.

Anyway, let's ignore that. What has this year meant to me?

January.
The year started with a rude shock, with my grandmother's passing suddenly happening, and with all honesty, January felt like a train wreck of a ride. I felt miserable very often, god knows why. But there was a few fun moments too, although somehow I can't seem to remember XD. Goes to show that miserable things just stick in ur mind, but the good stuffs just seems to vanish. (i'll follow this up later.. just provoked a different issue to talk about)

February.
Erm... CNY celebrations, lots of gambling and house-visits. Lost some cash XD
Results. >< Sad.

March.
Seemed like a blank period to me. Didn't quite recall anything notable, but there was a phrase that went with, no news is good news, and I suppose this is true. It simply shows nothing bad happened to me. XD

Oh, there was one, (rereading my blog posts) 300! the movie came out, in full manly awesomeness, and the birth of the 'this is spartaaaaaaaaaaa' meme.

April.
Erm.. again I can't seem to remember anything. >< I think as a new year resolution, I ought to start OH ya, graduation. Noticed I looked like Tom Riddle, aka Voldemort.

May
Exam, and mock for 2.1-2.4. Nothing significant worth noting.

June.
Exam. Penang holidays, enjoyed myself. Sad I missed redang, but then, what do I care.

July.
New sem. Nothing particularly important

August.
Results. Australia. Generally lethargic month, felt I was playing catch up. Bothered by how some could take things so lightly, but then again~

September.
Found out something, saddened. Few birthdays, and CY got a gf, XD Happy for them. Also the 'official' beginning of the mating season, that sees a few other couples being formed. Oh, failed all papers in a PT for the first time, hell of an experience to me.

October.
Nothing of major significance, except car battery breaking down. XD called AAM for the 1st time, experience to remember. Tree falls the same day as my battery said byebye. Quite amusing. Dog passed away. Sad T_T

November
Mugging season. No activity detected. Erm, generally felt extremely exhausted and worn out by the classes and all the studying. There was a rather strong craving to just leave everything behind.

December.
exam. hometown. outings. tired.

----------

We remember bad things. We don't seem to remember good things immediately. So usually we regret what we do, because the good things that happened, we only recall it, alway a bit too late for us.

So, dear couples/etc, here's a friendly advice. Don't be too hasty to make accusatory remarks. Don't regret o! XD

Here.

I'll talk about something I like.

Nuerburgring Nordschleife race course in GT4. So... huge. 20km/lap, each taking 7-(infinite) depending on how fast you go, and yet it seemed like dancing on a string, since the roads are hopelessly narrow, the surface hopelessly uneven, the bends warps the very fabrics of space-time, and for the love of god, I like it.

A far cry from the 1-3 minute laps in many other maps, or for that matter, games, there's a depth to it that makes each lap feels fresh and terribly challenging, unlike how some shorter maps quickly fall into a rhythm of it's own and the fingers just become numb.

And what do I drive in it? A 189bhp/700kg '79 Autobianchi XD. (laptime 9m20sec)
Fuck it's so awesome.

GT4 rawks. (i'm late by 2-3 years, but fuck you. GT5's not out yet)

review of legend water chalets PD.

Not worth the money during superpeak periods.
Rm650 for a room for 1 night, breakfast for 2 only (and it's like normal hotel food)

But the tub was nice, water pressure was decent.
View = terrible, because PD water is ugly.
At night, with the lights(refinery) on the horizon, quite pretty.

Parking, modest
pool, like normal pool.
location, bleh.
beach, DIRTY!
food, normal.
design, er... ordinary la. I expected more.

So, don't go. I personally recommend Avillion over Legend for water chalets, because the design and view at Avillion was nicer, with a private and decently clean beach.

or if all u want to do is just relax, why not get a room at Nikko/Marriott instead, much nicer. (and nikko's morning breakfast buffet is wonderful)

Not sure how to begin, or where to begin. Not quite sure whether it matters, either, yet it is a matter where judgment becomes quickly clouded, and thought loses clarity.

It's hard to say anything.
It's harder to say anything meaningful.
It's hardest to say what I think I should have said.

Because the mind is always catching up, lost and turned into some wrong junction somewhere along the way and by the time it catches up, it's always too late.
Because after all that was said, thinking back, it always sounded wrong, and could've done better.

AH~

Why'd it have to come back and bug me again~
Go away, shoo~!

The fan.
It's swishing sound, normally masked by a myriad of other noises, becomes apparent when it's time to sleep and those noises are silenced, temporarily.

The aircond makes a certain sound at night at regular intervals, that is remotely like the sound of electrical sparks and ice breaking. Quite unnerving at times, but usually it is ignored or assimilated into the symphony of night, lulling and slowly coaxing to sleep.

Then there's the occasional odd sound from the middle of nowhere, although it's usually the voices of the ceiling inhabitants, or their footsteps as they make their way to somewhere unknown. It seems as if in the ceilings of the houses, exist a network for these inhabitants to traverse the dark areas of houses.

Once in a while, comes to unnoticed singing of some insects, and while their music is soft and hardly audible in a normal environment, in the darkness of the night, even the slightest shift in tone alerts the mind to the threat of these creatures. Aha! With the lights on though, they don't look too menacing, but in the dark, these stealthy creatures are far more dangerous.

Or then, there's the flipping of scattered paper due to the fluctuations of the air in the room caused by fan, aircond and various other unseen sources, and while with some dim lighting in a sunset day, these..... noises are very much akin to sounds of music for the lonesome, at night, the dark shrill burst of these papers are like an announcement that the devil has arrived, sending a jolt of thunder through one's soul.

Frightened?
Nah. Amusing to notice when sleep refuses to come.

Disillusioned

I suspect when we graduate, the working environment will be saturated, with many accounts/non-accounts graduates chasing many different audit jobs. I feel this, in a way, leaves us in a slight advantage, but also at a possible severe disadvantage.

The trend nowadays is to have accountancy training provided by the firm, while the graduate possess a background a non-related field aka medicine, engineering, pharmacy, arts, HR etc, so that a more varied approach on audit can be achieved.

But then again, this is M'sia. We don't know the future because it's in the hands of a senile old man and his lackeys.

Sequential Flow Of Thought

The fact is, life is very clear cut to us. No doubt our thinking is highly structured and probably we will make the proper analysis if given the information. However, there's a critical issue in any studies that we need, which happens to be information gathering.

In science, if you don't have reliable evidence for at least 2 sources, you cannot make valid assumptions, and in science, we go to great lengths to obtain evidence, from CERN's Large Hadron Collider and it's counterparts, to all the telescopes and radars we place to scan the skies.

Information is critical for anything to be done, correctly.

In the business world today, we lack the skills, or the time to go through every nook and corner for information to decide whether that information is relevent or for that matter, reliable to begin with. Generally accepted notion is that the accounts are not 100% correct. The statements based on such accounts are again, not 100% correct.

Coupled with various provisions and future estimates we have to make, alot of the information out there is to a certain extent, unreliable. Again, from such unreliable statements we get derivatives, and derivatives, are then further derived to get more of such bullshit.

With such a vulnerable base, what are we basing the world economy on? Goods movement? Generally the value of money is exemplified by the demand for goods, and thus money as a means to acquire it, of everyone, and in relative to each other, it gives money value.

Which comes down to another issue, money is how we place a value on the transactions, events and items in the accounts, now, if the purpose of FR is to reflect management ability to manage their company, how does an object with varying values become a clear, solid basis for measurement of management performance?

Again, I realize that I have made a fundamental error in my assumptions, which is to assume money only affects the company generally. This is wrong, as it is said the change in value of currency happens to everyone, however I'm inclined to rebuke this, as the world is made of fragmented currency systems, some weak, some strong. The weaker ones will shake heavily merely because someone said something stupid.

What keeps the economy running? Why does everyone need to work for money? It's generally because of sustenance as we all need money to obtain necessities..

Trade allows one to focus on one area, and use his ability and talent to obtain money to fulfill his necessities. If he doesn't need such necessities, he would no longer be chained to the system. He may work to obtain what he wants, but no more. Now, why would he do that?

I guess it would be liberating to know that you can work whenever you want to, and stop whenever you want to, because you don't need the system for your necessities.

-

Generally a pile of crap based on 1 minute thoughts. All the arguments above are easily countered, simply because I really haven't thought at every angle of the issue. I believe when I do, I'll find that the arguments ring hollow.

-

Went BTS today. Aka, babi, tambi, sohai.

Saw alot of loli and a trap or so. And a few reverse traps too.
But generally it was boring unless you participate. XD

Zerg 2.1

BROUGHT TO YOU almost-LIVE, from zerg radio at sc97.0 fm!!!!!

Today's match is a 1 on 1, straight on zerg against protoss, as usual, in the zerg side, the one and only, ME! While on the protoss side, is my poor computer opponent who'll get owned.

Again, to even the odds, I have black sheep wall on!

-

Highlights

At 6minute, the protoss came with a full set of zealots, 12 straight on against my base defenses of sunken colonies. 6 + zerglings against 12, and i lost all my zerglings and 3 of my defenses. But I was quick to rebuild and expand outwards.

At 12minutes, it came again, with zealots, dragoons and d-templars. This time the mistake was
not repeated, and I had overlords watching over my troops. Quickly, the enemy force was destroyed, but as usual, no war in starcraft goes without loss.

The swarm has control of 4 mineral fields and the extractors are operating at full capacity, with 11 hatcheries. A full fleet of guardians and mutalisks, and hordes of hydralisks were at my disposal. But wait, the swarm did. It was foolhardy to charge into the protoss enclave with their forces ready.

And, the predictable protoss forces came, with 2 carriers, scouts and corsairs accompanied with a small band of dragoons. The swarm's forces sprung into action, quickly laying waste to their forces and followed by a quick rush into their weakened fortress from 2 fronts, by air and transport, and through their front door.

With a swift blow, their defenses were crushed by the overwhelming numbers of the eternal swarm, and their core structures obliterated. The war, was over.

And then it was merely cleaning up the remnants of the protoss survivors. Without the protection of their carrier fleets, the swarm soon laid claim to all of the planet of Big Game Hunters.

NiDeBeiBao

To say relief, would be an understatement, as it was not only a worry, it was a burden. As if the weights of the world was, for once after a thousand millennia , could be laid down, and Atlas, gets his long deserved rest before lifting it up again.

For once on my way home, driving while the sun sets on the horizon of buildings and houses, I felt truly happy. It was over, and the gladness inside was surging out. I was so glad that the exam was over, I was singing in my car and smiling at other cars. The sky, with it's streaks of gold, orange and white, and with the glow of neway's billboard(or whatever u call that thing), it seemed like the perfect lining to an end.

But the sky, clouds were always there. It's just I've never gotten the time, or rather, the mood and joy inside to appreciate it. Love is always there, your friends, if you have done your part, will always be there, so it just strikes me as foolish, to constantly view my life as half empty, and not as half full, when in fact, except for a few things, I have many things in that others don't.

And as some say, at the end of the day, I have my wit and cunning to guide me through. So despite how miserable I'm inclined to view my life as, it's actually not that bad.

And i'm not emo.

I'm actually quite bloody high and excited.

I sometimes wonder

We should not be nervous.

In my sincere opinion, you aren't facing an audience.
What lies before you is merely a piece of paper, and words.
You should not be intimidated by words.

There is no stress.
There is no need to pressure oneself for what one doesn't know.

Exam scares you? It should. But only the moments before the exam.

I believe I'm able to think fast in exam, because I am calm.
Fear, stress and that unnerving sensation only distracts and slow you down.

Focus, is not mugging.
Focus, is thinking of nothing else.
Focus, is having no feelings to cloud judgment.

Speed, requires focus and momentum.
Once you're on a roll, the speed at which you complete your questions goes up.

Zerg

1 game today, 1 on 1, me as zerg vs protoss.

Could've been summed up as a lucky game, due to the protoss AI's cut off at a certain point.

In the beginning, had the protoss pushed all it's zealots against me, instead of keeping 4 to 5 of them at base, he'd wiped me out right away. I had insufficient defenses concentrated sparingly, and my zerg population was terrible.

My tech rush to obtain guardians was unwise as well. No doubt having guardians meant they couldn't attack me, but I made the dumb decision of pushing my guardians right into their main base, and getting them wiped out, instead of using the guardians to securely clear the outer bases.

Furthermore, I didn't build up sufficient air-defenses to protect the guardians, and given the protoss air superiority, I lost 2 fleets of guardians to psionic storms and corsairs/scouts. It was a bad decision. Guardians are defensive, as their namesake. Pushing them requires a backup of hydralisks, which I did not have.

And also, being zerg, I needed the overlords to watch out for the dark templars, and I dumbly placed them at some corner, and for nothing, lost a whole bunch of hydralisks (integral to my anti-air, since they are pretty much the only decent multirole unit for the zerg.)

So, another blunder.

Thankfully, the game was won due to my large cash suppliers, and also I had upgraded my zerglings sufficiently to push them against the protoss during their transition from land units to air units. (ie they were pumping scouts (rather pathetic against land) instead of zealots), so I managed to weaken their bases substantially.

By the 6th/7th wave of 40+ zerglings, I had all their outer bases cleared and their main base without a nexus. And then, it was a clean sweep. Without a supply of funds to reconstruct, their mincemeat.

But generally, if it were a human opponent of similar skill, by the 5th minute the game would be over. Only a computer would be so stupid to hold back when it's obvious my base is literally defenseless.

I'd be a bad cerebrate~ ><

Bleh.

BATTLE STATIONS!!!!!!!!

Today, what did I do.

9.30am, wakes up, looks at phone to check the time, notices it's still far too early, so goes back to sleep.
10am. Wakes up again, couldn't sleep anymore, head slightly dizzy and full of air. Decides to stare at wall for 5 minutes. Or did I? No idea, forgot.

2pm, comes down, play a little of GT4, completes license for B. Terrible. Whines at self for being a total noob at GT (I was surprisingly good at GT2 however, because it's arcade style back then.. simplistic controls).

Goes up, with intention to study.
Reads a few pages, dozes off.

Wakes up at some time around 6. Comes down, head blur.

><

Plays o2jam, feels like a total sucker at the game.

Slept at 1am. Woke up at 9am.
curious why not extremely exhausted. Blames huge amount of energy on Kopiko.

Went eat, chat with some uncle just met, talked politics. Dad very blur.
Maybank guard holds handgun. Interesting. Trying to shoot someone?

Study. More appropriately, tried to study. Fail at trying.
Spent 1 hour rearranging room, notes to self.

'Throw away stack of paper'

Why a stack of paper? Collected since CAT!
Indicative of denial and problems with letting go in the future.

Goes out, spends hours saying how bored botslaying is.

*********A Bug's Life*******

There's a bug in the room.
When the lights went off yesterday, it was on the finger, crawling.
The sensation of it there, quickly results in panic and chaos.
In the darkness, even the slightest of scares is a demon's horror.
And the lights went on, and goes 1 hour spent on hunting the bug.
Never found it.

So the bug still lives in the room. Somewhere.

Can anyone sleep soundly when there's a bug in their room?

A beetle, to be exact. It flies, the size of an M & M, brown in color and god knows whether it bites or not.
